Winners: Transit War on MTVu's The Freshman
Well, the polls are closed and the votes have been all been counted for mtvU's show "The Freshman". Thanks to all of you that took the time to visit the site, repost bulletins, and just spread the word, we are happy to tell you that we have won last weeks competition. When the contest was first announced we thought we didn't stand a chance against bands like Circa Survive, Daphne Loves Derby, Tapes n' Tapes, and Greeley Estates, who are all much bigger than us. We should have known that though our fans were smaller in numbers, they were also way more powerfull and ultimately gave us the win. Way to go Transit Warriors! We are now in regular rotation on mtvU and to thank you we are whipping up a little gift that should be ready real soon. We truly love and thank ALL of you!
THANK YOU!!
TTW

04.01.06 :: Shows
Howdy Ya'll! Happy April Fools... We wish the following news was
a joke but unfortunatly it's not. We've had to cancel the first
5 shows of our upcoming tour so we can put some final touches on
our upcoming album. We hope to get back to the cities we have canceled
in the near future so keep checking our shows
page for more dates. On a lighter note, we can't be more excited
about the album we've recorded over the past month. Special thanks
to the Solis family for putting us up this past week and showing
us a good ol' fashion Texan time. Long days and pleasant nights
ya'll...
Safe, TTW

03.05.06 ::
I like this habit of writing news updates on Sunday's. It's soothing
really, everyone's nice and relaxed...marinating in the joy of spending
an entire day doing nothing...good times. Anyway, we've made it
here to Austin, TX in one piece and starting tommorow...back to
work! We're going to be locked in a studio out here for the next
three weeks putting the finishing touches on some new Transit War
diddy's during the day, and hopefully doing absolutely nothing productive
at night. But in an attempt to continue living in the dream world
of "People Pay Attention to What We Do", we're setting
up a live web feed from the studio via Yahoo! Messenger. If you'd
like to take a peek at what we're up to (and appreciate how completely
uninteresting we are in general) just add thetransitwar to your
Yahoo! buddy list and pray that a dinosaur walks into frame or something
exciting! We're going to try and keep it running as often as possible
but even if it's not, please drop by and at least say hi to us.
Talk to you soon then? As always, long days and pleasant nights...love,
TTW

02.26.06 ::

be posting a bunch of tour dates here very soon so keep checking

then, thank you everyone for the continued love and support! Grab
a copy of our latest release, iAh

11.05.05 ::
Long time, no see.. We have been very busy getting things ready
for the re-release of our newly ENHANCED iAh Discordia! album on
Orange Peal Records. We are all very excited about it. We are almost
ready to start some pre-production for our next album. We have 3
shows this month in Southern California. One of which is Nov 25th
at the Casbah, which also happens to be Jaime's Birthday. You can
check our shows page for more details on those. We are happy to
announce that we have gotten our trailer fixed. We know some of
you that saw the video
clip of our broken axle,
were a little concerned. The accident brought us all a little closer
which might of helped us celebrate Halloween, as a youth basketball
team.
We all had lots of fun, we hope that you did too! Until our paths
meet again, long days and pleasant nights! Love, TTW

10.05.05 ::
Hey friends, we have so much stuff to tell you, we could write a
novel with it all... I guess we'll start by telling you that we
crossed our T's and dotted our I's in blood. That's right, we signed
our lives away to Orange Peal Records. You can check out our new
extended family over at orangepealrecords.com.
You should all welcome them into the family as well, by adding them
on myspace.
They will be re-releasing iAh Discordia! so if you haven't picked
up an original copy at one of our shows, you should do so soon before
they become history. They might be worth a penny or three on ebay
one day... AND speakin of shows, we are heading out to Colorado
this morning to play some. Check our shows
page for more details... We recently played an acoustic show at
the coffee
bean here in San Diego. We had so much fun that we're going
to be doing it again, shortly after we return home. Thanks to those
of you that came out! We'll post more info as soon as we get the
final word. We have so much more to tell you, but for now, as always,
long days and pleasant warm nights! Love, your TTW!

09.15.05 ::
Hello friends. We would like to thank all those who came out to
Soma last weekend, as well as all the other bands that played. We
hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did. By the grace of ungodly
amounts of caffeine we made it to San Rafael (just north of S.F.)
the next morning at 9:30, for some fun in the sun opening and closing
the Verge
Concerts Showdown. Big thanks goes out to to Verge and all the
other bands that played that day, and all the new friends we made.
You guys rule (even if you did graffiti our trailer)! We had an
amazing time at the San
Diego Music Awards on Monday and even though we didn't walk
away with an award, congratulations go out to Goodbye
Blue Monday and all the other winners that night. We hope to
see you all at the Paintball
World Series on Friday, it's free and we will be playing along
with Spell
Toronto and a bunch of other great bands. And lastly, we are
very excited to get back to Arizona on Saturday for The
Edgefest. We hope to see you at a Transit War show soon. Long
Days and Pleasant Dreamy Nights to you, our friends. Love, TTW.

08.30.05
::
So this weekend was incredible! Thank you to everyone who came to
the Casbah Saturday night, it ended up being a sold out show and
we couldn't have scripted a better night at home after being gone
for so long! So again, thank you, we owe you...if you ever need
anything from The Transit War, don't hesitate to ask...like milk
or sugar, or a ride to the airport or anything like that...for real
just ask. Also, hopefully you got to check out Spell
Toronto and First
Wave Hello, since they both were brilliant that night as well.
As for upcoming news, we'll be playing SOMA here in San Diego on
the 9th of September with our friends Spell Toronto, Buckfast
Superbee, Larger
than Life, and Get
Back Loretta so warm up the vocal chords for a night of singing,
intense fist pumping, and maybe even some karate! There's a lot
more to report show wise and I swear we're working on getting our
'Shows' page on the site working so until then check out our MySpace
page for more frequent updates! Stay strong and Long Days and
Pleasant Nights to Ya'! Love...TTW

08.23.05
::
Holy wow! Just wanted to do a quick update after our show this weekend
with Fenix TX and Homegrown in an attempt to convey the awesomeness
of the evening! The show was incredible and thank you to everyone
who came out, we had a great time. Looks like we'll be back that
way soon here too, we'll be playing Edgefest
in Pheonix, AZ on September 17th so hopefully we get to see some
of you again. So until then, as always, Long Days and Pleasant Nights
to Ya...love, us!

08.17.05 ::
Wow! Well it's officially been way too long since we've updated
this thing so we apologize. And goodness, where do we begin? Well
we've finally made it home and the past five months of touring were
incredible. Nothing but thank you's to everyone we met along the
way and all the bands we had the privilege of playing/spending time
with, we look forward to seeing everyone again soon! And let's see,
news worthy stuff? We've got some pretty great shows coming up here,
first, this Saturday the 20th with Fenix TX (reunion show!) and
Homegrown
at the Rialto Theatre in Tuscon, AZ. Also, we'll be at the Casbah
on the 27th of August with Spell
Toronto, First
Wave Hello, and Spare
Change so make the time to come sing and dance with us for our
first show back at home! More more they say! Alright, well we've
been nominated for a San
Diego Music Award for 'Best Alternative Album' which, once we
found out, caused us to immediately flip our gourds since it was
incredibly unexpected. The awards take place on September 12th at
Humphrey's by the Bay and tickets are available online...it
is quite the event we must say, especially since we've only ever
been spectators in the past. Well, we'll wrap this one up (we swear)
by saying that we'll be guests on the 'Local
94/9' on September 11th as well, so tune in if you have the
time...I'm sure we'll have nothing but important stuff to talk about!
In closing, The Transit War is very glad to be back home safe and
sound and as always, Long Days and Pleasant Nights to Ya! We love
you...

07.23.05 ::
Well here we are, writing you from beautiful Paducah, Kentucky in
the middle of 110 degree weather! We've had an amazing last week
of shows, from Ohio through Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and now
Kentucky. Thanks must be given to Miles and the rest of The Broken
Hearts Acadamey for the hospitality, and also David and the
guys from Vintage Powersource, we had a great time playing with
you and the shows we're incredible! As far as other Transit War
news, we played our last show with Sloppy
Meateaters and we're sad to be parting ways, but we've got enough
good stories to last until we get home! We'll be playing our way
back to San Diego in the next couple of weeks so check our shows
page for updates and we look forward to seeing everyone before we
make it back to our own beds (not in a van!) and sleep for a month.
Still along the path of the Beam...Long Days and Pleasant Nights
to Ya'!

07.16.05 ::
Well hello from New York City! It's been a while since an update
so we thought we'd try and catch you up on some new Transit War
happenings. We completed our little run on The Vans Warped Tour
and it was a total success. So much in fact that we're officially
on our second pressing of our record, Ah Discordia! which is a good
thing right? Right! We also made some great new friends and met
some brilliant bands so we've definitely got some entertaining stories
for anyone that's curious. Anyway, we were able to spend about one
day at home before we turned around and left for tour once again
with Sloppy
Meateaters, which is why we're writing you from NYC. On a side
note, we've set a new Transit War record for hours in a van when
we completed our 51hr drive non-stop from San Diego to New York
(through that hurricane in the midwest no less!) but the shows we've
played so far have been totally worth the trip and all the rest
of our new tour dates will by on the site soon as well as our MySpace
page. Also, we apologize for not having more pictures being posted
online but Brad's camera broke (sadness) so instead we're working
on posting more video clip updates so keep checking back! Lastly,
we're now rolling as a six piece since our good friends Travis
White (the man responsible for all our artwork) and Shea Small
are with us for the rest of the journey so we're set for total domination
of this country for the rest of the summer and that's enough to
keep us smiling...until we see you, Long Days and Pleasant Nights
to Ya'! .

07.02.05 ::
Well hello from the Vans Warped Tour! We're three days into our
little stint here on the tour and things have been pretty great
so far. We've been meeting a lot of great bands and people and getting
very very sun burned! We posted a little video
clip from San Francisco, and I apologize for the amount of times
I say "Um..." It was early, I was sleepy... But we'll be in Ventura
on the 3rd. so if you're in the area stop by the Kevin Says Stage
and say hello...Love and Love to you all, we'll see you soon! THE
TRANSIT WAR

07.01.05 ::
Gotta love technology! We are driving to San Francisco right now
for the next Warped Tour date, and four of the six of us are glued
to some kind of gadget. Things are going great though. We have made
a ton of new friends and earned ourselves some real nice tan lines.
Looks like we will be home in the middle of August to show off our
tans and we are also planning two San diego shows...one at the Casbah...21
and up, and the other all ages at Soma. YAY! We are having a blast
but miss you all! Sorry so short of an update. Drop us a line and
pet our doggies for us since we miss them too.

06.24.05 ::
Well, sorry it's been a bit since our last update but we've had
some intresting things going on. First off, we're actually back
home right now! One of the bands we were on tour with, The Sloppy
Meateaters, lost their drummer while we were out and returned home
in order to find a replacement. The tour will pick back up on the
12th of July in New York City. In exciting news, we start WARPED
TOUR here in San Diego on the 30th of this month so we'd better
see you guys out in the sun with us for a day of dancing and dehydration...gotta
love the "d" words... Also, there's some talk about 'Kerosene' possibly
being added to regular rotation on 91X so we could sure use everyone's
help on this one. If you have a moment, you can call (619) 570-1919
or (760) 944-9191 or e-mail them at www.91x.com/contact.html and
let them know that you'd love,(that's right love!) to hear The Transit
War's 'Kerosene'. Hopefully together we can irritate them into submission!
This is all a result of the "91X Loudspeaker Comp" that was just
released. It's a double disc of over thirty brilliant San Diego
local bands and we feel privilaged to be a part of it, you can find
it online at www.merchlackey.com/loudspeaker Well this sure is getting
lengthy (which I have a bad habit of doing so I apologize) but in
a nut shell, a lot of exciting things are going on, and are in the
works so keep checking back as the 'New' tour schedule will be up
in the next day or so, and keep sending us e-mails, we love hearing
from you! As always, Long Days and Pleasant Nights to Ya'! THE TRANSIT
WAR

06.14.05 ::
And we're off! We're leaving today for tour once again and our first
stop is in Berkely, CA tommorow night @ Blakes on Telegraph. Again,
we're touring for a while here with Parkside View and The Sloppy
Meateaters so we're excited! It was so great to see everyone while
we were home and a big thank you to everyone who came out to the
Casbah to sing some songs with us...we're gonna miss home for sure.
But in the mean time, send your good thoughts our direction and
we'll see you in august! As for you folks in the rest of the country,
our new tour dates will be posted here soon so we'll see you soon...and
like that we return to the Path of the Beam...Long Days and Pleasant
Nights...love,THE TRANSIT WAR

06.10.05 ::
Wow and wow! There aren't enough words to really give last nast
justice. Thank you to everyone who made us feel truly welcome back
home at The Casbah, we had a great time. Hopefully you had a chance
to see Park Side View and The Sloppy Meateaters, two brilliant bands
from Atlanta Georgia who we have the privilage of touring with for
the next month or so. Which means check out our show dates...we're
coming to find you...and sing and dance for you...Long Days and
Pleasant Nights to Ya'! The Transit War

06.09.05 ::
Well, well, well...the night of pure rock is upon us. Tonight, the
9th of June we play our last San Diego show until we return home
from our next U.S. tour in mid August. Make sure you all try and
make it nice and early to the Casbah to see the Perils of Being,
Parkside View and the Sloppy Meat Eaters. These bands are all amazing,
and nice handsome gentlemen to boot. Also, we would like to thank
anyone who went to our YahooMusic.com link... http://music.yahoo.com/ar-19456866---The-Transit-War
to download our video for Kerosene. Last week alone we had more
than 45x1000(truth!) views of the video, which is really scary to
us, but makes us grin really big at the same time. Thank you all,
and we will see you tonight at the Casbah. Loves, hugs, and kisses(insert
little kitties running across screen here)! THE TRANSIT WAR...

06.04.05 ::
We're Back! We're at the Casbah on the 9th so hopefully we'll get
to see you and give hugs and kisses...the song of the turtle is
closer now!

05.27.05 ::
ALRIGHTY!!! This update won't be as long as our last rant, but it
is just as important. Our video for Kerosene is up on Yahoo! music.
Here is the link so you can all go and make fun of us a bit... http://music.yahoo.com/ar-19456866---The-Transit-War
As always, WE LOVE YOU ALL!.

05.24.05 ::
Hello hello! Just thought we'd do a little website updating here
from East Stroudsburg,PA. Let's see...something news-worthy...we're
actually getting ready to wrap-up this tour and start making our
way back home to San Diego, but first, we're heading back to some
of our new favorite places. We've got shows in Charleroi, PA...Lawerance,
KS...Kearney, NE...Denver, CO...Pheonix, AZ coming up so check our
tour dates online 'cause if you're from there we'd love to see your
face...see, you can't get rid of us! Also, once we make it back
home we've got a great show to play at the Casbah on June the 9th.
We're playing with Sloppy Meaters, Parkside View, and The Perils
of Being...show starts at 9:00 and it's $8 at the door. So leave
that night open and come do some singing and drinking with us 'cause
after that, we turn right around and leave again for another month
and a half! Ahhh! Riding in cars with boys...riding too long in
cars with boys... For this next venture The Transit War is preparing
to go international!! Actually it's just Canada but it sounds much
cooler to say INTERNATIONAL!! We leave on the 11th of June and head
up the west coast, then cross into Canada and play our way east
for three weeks, then back into New York and more shows here in
the states. So as always, we'll have lots of picture updates and
do our best to keep ya'll (they say that in parts of the country
we've learned) informed about anyhting that is Transit War. Here's
something kind of exciting too. We've shot a video for Yahoo Music
and Launch.com that should be online very soon. With the help of
Daniel and everyone at Edge-Wise Productions and our good friend
Roland from Larger Than Life, we've got something that we're very
happy with and we hope is entertaining...at the least you'll be
able to laugh at us and then ridicule us in some sort of public
forum...but either way, we're proud of the video and we had a great
time making it. We did the video for Kerosene, a track off of our
Ah Discordia! release and again, it should be up on Launch.com soon
and also on our own website/MySpace etc. so keep your eyes peeled.
Let's see, is this long enough yet? I think so so we'll wrap it
up here. To all of our new friends across the country, thank you
so much for making our travels amazing and for enlisting in The
Transit War army! Music is about creating community so we're very
grateful for being welcomed into yours and we'll be back very soon,
say thankee. To our friends at home, we can't wait to see you so
be there on the 9th if you can! As always, we say thankee big big
and Long Days and Pleasant Nights, The Transit War.

05.13.05::

of returning home especially for a show of such EPIC proportion!!!
We can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces!

Well hello ya'll from Austin Texas (apparently ya'll is the customary
slang here in these parts for 'you all') we've had a wacky last
couple of days playing in Amarillo then Witchita Falls only to end
up at Jaime's uncle's home in Austin. First off, we have to thank
Jeff from The Pod and all our new friends in Amarillo...man you
kids are crazy, we wish we could've stayed the night 'cause everyone
was definitly "gettin' nice my friend!". But we made the trek to
Witchita Falls and had probably one of the best nights on tour yet!
Thank you Jin Ju for all your help making the show happen and to
our new friend Tim who did a fantastic job of keeping the bar and
us stocked at the VFW! We should have some new pics up on our MySpace
page soon as well as this site (I swear!) so you can laugh at our
mountain climbing adventures as well as some other real pertenant
images. Anyway, we've got two shows here in Austin and about another
week in Texas before we head to Arkansas, so if we come up missing,
it probably means Texas ate us. Oh yes...we'll be spending Cico
de Mayo here on 6th street in Austin drinking for ya'll, so be sure
to have some drinks yourselves! Long Days and Pleasant Nights, and
listen for the song of the turtle. Love...The Transit War

Woah! Just got into Amarillo TX after an amazing night in Kearney
NB. Thank you Puke and Gorman and everyone at Pink and Black Productions
for showing us a wonderful time, and both Killing Virginia and I
Am Miss America for sharing a stage with us. They're two amazing
bands so be sure and check the pic's page as well as our MySpace
for some new pictures. Also, Jim and I(Jaime) would really like
to thank the rhythm section of The Transit War, Brad and Mike, for
some crazy driving talent and stamina last night...they're asleep
as we speak in the back but nice work gentleman...good teamwork...remember
there's no "I" in hustle...well until later, we continue along the
path of the beam and as always, long days and pleasant nights to
ya! Love, The Transit War

Greetings from The Transit War! This week we passed through Denver
and had two kick-ass shows. Great thanks to The Marquee Theater
and Hi-Dive for letting us play.. with special thanks to James,
Ryan from National Blues Arsenal (Thank you for the rad hospitality..
breakfast was amazing!), Michelle, and Rex from Buck Wild. Thank
you for everything! Now that we have had our fun hangin' out in
the snow it's time to head towards Nebraska then Texas: two things
to note about Texas... everything is bigger and don't mess with
it. We continue looking forward to the many adventures to come!
To everyone back home we love you and miss you... Long Days and
Pleasant Nights -Love TTW

Hello Friends! First of all we want to thank everyone who came to
support us at the show Saturday. We had an amazing time and hope
you did as well. Our show in San Francisco was a lot of fun and
we are now passing through the snowy Rockys towards Colorado! Keep
an eye on our myspace page for tour journal updates and pictures
from the road. Until then thank you so much for your love and support-
may you have long days and pleasant nights... Love, Jim, Brad, Mike

Good afternoon. Just wanted to let all of you know that your favorite
bald guitarist, (besides the one for Simple Plan) has turned into
26 years of pure handsomeness. Good times were shared with great
friends last night at our favorite little watering hole, Mckee's
Tavern in honor of Jim's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM! We love you!
Untill next time, listen for the song of the turtle, and remember,
all things serve the beam and we love you.
Long days and pleasant nights, yours truly,
The Transit War

Happy April friends, hope everyone got to fool around on the first!
And now news from The Transit War...we just found out that our SOMA
show on the 23rd. with Larger Than Life, and Reeve Oliver is now
a 91X show. Apparently they will be bringing all of the bands on
the bill in to do Brand X Morning Radio with Chris Cantore during
the next couple of weeks so be listening in the morning,(91X is
giving away several sets of tickets for the show as well) if you
can and we'll let you know the date when we're in the studio. Also,
we've started shooting footage with Edge-Wise Productions
for a video for Kerosene, so hopefully we'll have that finished
and online soon. Oh yes...The Transit War is listed on the Ernie
Ball website, and if you felt so inspired, you could give us a listen
and keep us in a contest for some Warped Tour dates and other exciting
things. Give us a hand by heading here to listen. In closing,
it appears we owe everyone an apology as well...so here goes 'Whew!'...
I guess we've led you astray, and convinced you there might be something
worthwhile in our music folks (sorry!), here's a very different
opinion brought to you by City Beat and SLAMM Magazine that's pretty
entertaining, check it out here -- just scroll down to the
"T's." So again, we're very sorry...please forgive us...please...please?
But since we're total press whores anyway, it's always cool to just
see your name right?! Thats the impotant part! We'll talk to you
soon and hopefully see alot you on the 23rd. so until then, listen
for the song of the turtle, and remember, all things serve the beam
and we love you.
Long days and pleasant nights, yours truly,
The Transit War
